100 West Pender Street
Vancouver, BC
Structure: steel frame
Completed 1912
Architect: T. Whiteway
Style: Beaux-arts
This striking hexagonal tower was Canada's tallest building at the time of completion. It
served as The Vancouver Sun's offices between 1924-1964. Its elaborate copper top is
immediately recognisable from a distance. Less recognisable are the nine
naked muses supporting the cornice.
